Stanley W. Martin, 76, widower of Barbara F. Martin, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016. Born Dec. 16, 1939, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Stanley L. Martin and Ella Harrod Martin. He graduated from Elkhorn High School in 1957, then attended Georgetown College. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 40 years, was a veteran of the Army National Guard and a member of Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church. Survivors include two children, Kevin (Ruth) Martin and Dana (Doug) Logan; two grandchildren, Ashley M. (Shaun) King and Kevin "Bubba" (Jessica) Martin; four great-grandchildren, Jack (Ashley) King, Drew (Shawn) King, Ella (Kevin) Martin, and Barrett (Jessica) Martin; three sisters, Cheryl Hensley, Linda Combs and Freda Combs; and a brother, Jesse (Judy) Nowlin. Services were conducted Friday, Feb. 12, at Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church by the Rev. Todd Lester. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Casket bearers were Doug Logan, Bubba Martin, Shaun King, Chris Combs, Christopher Combs, and Jimmy Wainscott. Honorary bearers were Lee Troutwine, Jim Bank, Jeff Combs, Scotty Hash, Jesse Nowlin, and Ronnie Paul Martin.
