Iva Joann Brown, 61, of Lexington, formerly of Versailles, mother of Jojuan Gallman of Lexington, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, at her home. Born in Versailles, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Ray Sr. and Georgia Elizabeth Brown. She was a 1973 graduate of Woodford County High School and a member of the Simpson United Methodist Church. In addition to her daughter, she is survived by a son-in-law, Keith Gallman; three sisters, Elizabeth "Doll" Brown and Paula B. Brown, both of Lexington, and Anna Higgins, Houston, Texas; a brother, Baron Brown, Fayetteville, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services were conducted Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Simpson United Methodist Church by the Rev. Rhoda Raglin and Evangelist Anna Higgins. Burial was in the Steele Cemetery.
