Franklin D. Douglas, 78, of Versailles, widower of Gayle Ritchey Douglas, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017. Born Dec. 1, 1938, in Versailles, he was the son of the late Henry and Edith Holland Douglas. He worked in construction for the Kentucky State Parks. He was also a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam, and was a member of Versailles Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Darrin Douglas, Kyle Douglas, and Ryan Douglas, all of Versailles; two sisters, Shirley Gross and Ann Peach, Versailles; a brother, Billy (Rexie) Douglas, Frankfort; two grandchildren, Ashley Willoughby, Lexington, and Kyle Douglas Jr, Alabama; and a great-granddaughter, Brinlei Willoughby, Lexington. Services were conducted Saturday, Jan. 28, at Versailles Baptist Church by the Rev. Michael Cabell. Burial was in the Versailles Cemetery.
