Hazel M. Morrison, 52, of Versailles, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017.
Born Feb. 4, 1965, she was the daughter of the late Elmer J. and Cora Buntain Turner.
She was a fighter, battling cancer for the past eight years, beating lung cancer during her journey, all the while continuing her supportive nature toward her family and friends. She was a shoulder to cry on, a listening ear, and a solver of problems. She enjoyed spending time with her son Ryan, supporting him through life in general, but especially school, going to concerts, shopping, and anything to do with flowers. Whether growing them, making flower arrangements, wreaths, or simply enjoying the sight of them, flowers were Hazel’s joy, her solace.
In addition to her son, Ryan (Ashton Courtney) Morrison, Stamping Ground; she is survived by her husband, Mark Morrison; two sisters, Margaret Coubert, Midway and Patricia Settles, Campbellsville; a niece, Ashley Beasley, Versailles; a great niece and nephew, Charlotte and William Nowlin, Versailles; and special friends, Jodi Burlingham and Beverly Ball.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Rose Lemons, Bonnie Thompson, and Charlotte Shea; brother, Donald Turner; and faithful companion, Pepper.
A memorial service was held Monday, Dec. 4, at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. A gathering of family and friends took place prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
