Virginia Norris Adams, wife of the late James Foote Adams, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2017 in Versailles, Kentucky. Born July 23, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Mary and Joe Norris of New Market, Alabama. She was a graduate of Florence State Teachers College (now the University of North Alabama) and did graduate work at several other universities as she and her husband moved about the country. She taught English in schools in Alabama, Texas and New York. She is survived by a son, Harvey Adams, Tucker, Georgia; a daughter, Claire (David) Brannen, Versailles; and three grandchildren, Jack Brannen, Louisville; Kate Brannen (Andrew) Smith, New Albany, Indiana; and Jane Brannen, Indianapolis. Memorial Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Versailles. Her urn will be interred with her husband in the columbarium at the Church of the Ascension in Montgomery, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Andrew’s Memorial Art Fund, 115 Paddock Drive, Versailles, KY 40383.
