Ron Bruens, 65, husband of Sheryl Bier Bruens, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2018.
Born on Oct. 10, 1952, in Sandusky, Ohio, he was the son of Margaret Hoerrle Deering, Ohio; and the late Harmon Bruens. He was a facilities manager for Kentucky Equine Research. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter, Courtney Bruens, Lexington; a sister, Patricia Meese, Ohio; a brother, John Bruens, South Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Cindy Grimm.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Road, with a gathering of family and friends to follow from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Woodford County Humane Society.
