Pauline Curry Britton, 96, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at Baptist Health, Lexington.
Born on May 11, 1922, in Louisville, she was the daughter of the late Jim Curry and Sarah Mae Adams Curry Tate. She was a LPN who retired after more than 40 years from Woodford Memorial Hospital and as a private duty nurse. She was a 1940 graduate of Midway High School and a member of Versailles Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis (Hal) Britton Hewitt, Versailles; and Pamela (Mike) Britton Bates, Moore, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Melissa (Jason) Bates James, Simpsonville, South Carolina; Jessica (John) Bates Stone, Duncan, South Carolina; Russell (Angela) Bates, Bloomingdale, Georgia; Lesley (Sam) McMahan Lawson, Lancaster; and Sarah (Wes) McMahan Dickerson, Lexington; and five great-grandchildren, Addey, Morgan, John Mac, Samuel and Emma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip M. Britton.
Services were conducted Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home, by Dr. Michael Cabell. Pallbearers were Mike Bates, Russell Bates, Wes Dickerson, Sam Lawson, John Stone and Jason James. Interment followed at Versailles Cemetery.
