Mary Jean Brown Reece, 91, widow of Fred Earl Reece Sr., died Monday, Dec. 17, at her home.
Born in Landrum, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Frank F. and Isabel Field Brown. She was a former employee of the State of Kentucky where she worked in governmental services and had worked at the Woodford County Library. She was a member of the Iron Works Pike Community Church and a member of The Study Club.
Survivors include three daughters, Isabel Reece Jones, Midway; Susan Reece Higbee and Margaret Reece Newsome, both of Versailles; two sons, Fred Earl Reece Jr., Versailles; and Bennett Dana (Debra) Reece, Hilton Head, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Laura (Matt) Moore, Jessica Woodrum, Peter Feix and Dr. Alex Feix; and three great-grandchildren, Nolan, Josephine and Bennett Daniel Feix. She was preceded in death by her only sister, Isabel Taylor.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Iron Works Pike Community Church, Scott County, with Rev. Jack Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Versailles Cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at the church.
