Marlene Frankenfield Walker, 86, widow of John W. Walker Sr., died Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Homeplace in Midway. Born on Sept. 17, 1932, in Springfield Township, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Horace Milton and Matilda Mease Frankenfield. She was a member of Pisgah Presbyterian Church. Survivors include three grandchildren, Emily (Richard) Jewell Craycraft Starks, Massachusetts; Rebecca Catherine Walker, Versailles; and Robert Walker Craycraft, Colorado; two great-grandchildren, Eloise Starks and Margaret Starks; a daughter-in-law, Jeannie Walker; and a son-in-law, Charles Craycraft. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Dr. Catherine Walker Craycraft; a son, John Weldon Walker Jr.; a sister, Harriet Giesmann; and a brother, Horace Frankenfield. Services were conducted Monday, May 20, at Pisgah Presbyterian Church by Bro. Tony Hancock and Rev. Katherine Redmond. Pallbearers were Robbie Craycraft, Chuck Craycraft, Bob Washer, Preston Martin, Brandon Wilson and Jeannie Walker. Burial followed at Pisgah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Cancer Society.
