Artice L. Woolums, 88, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019. Born on Dec. 23, 1930, in Woodford County, he was the son of the late John and Blanche Thurman Woolums. He was retired from the National Distillery and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War. Survivors include a daughter, Marie (Jason) Wise, Frankfort; two sons, Tommy Woolums, Frankfort; and Tony (Beth) Woolums, Lawrenceburg; a brother, James A. Woolums, Frankfort; five grandchildren, Chelsea Hyman, Michelle Jewel, Shelia Warfield, John Michael and Eli Woolums; and three great-grandchildren, Mathew, Tyler and Abby Riley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John H. Woolums Jr, and Paul Ronald Woolums; and two sisters, Carolyn Rose Woolums and Elizabeth Ann Woolums. Services were held Tuesday, Aug. 20, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Road, by Pastor Ricky Simpson. Casket bearers were Jason Wise, John Hyman, Mathew Riley, Eli Woolums, Stephen Marcum and Jason Lee Marcum. Honorary casket bearers were John Michael Woolums, Tyler Riley and Abby Riley. Burial followed in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
