Mary Louise Huffman Sharp, 93, widow of Lewis Blackburn Sharp Sr., died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019, at Rose Manor Nursing Home, Lexington. Born on May 28, 1926, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Thomas and Jennie Mae Redmon Huffman. She retired after 31 years of service as a bus driver for Woodford County Public Schools. She was a member of King’s Way Church. Survivors include three children, Doris (Larry) Chappell, Versailles; Lewis (Sandy) Sharp Jr., Lexington; and Gary Sharp, Harrodsburg; six grandchildren, Melissa (Chris) Cohee, Allison Sharp, Kimberly Sharp, Kenneth Allen Chappell, Larry (Angie) Brent Chappell and Dane Chappell; three great-grandchildren, Leslie Chappell, Laura Cohee and Sarah Chappell; two great-great-grandchildren; and three cousins, Buddy Egbert, Granville Egbert and Mike Egbert. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sadie Thelma “Billy” Tindall and a niece, Rita Gayle Tindall. Services were conducted Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home, by Pastor Jeff Johnson. Burial followed in Rose Crest Cemetery.
