JACKETFEST: Next week is Woodford County High School’s Jacketfest week, concluding Friday evening with a girls’ and boys’ basketball games against Spencer County and the annual Jacketfest Dance. The games begin at 6 p.m. and the dance follows.
- WOODFORD FOOTBALL: Every Thursday at 6:01 p.m. from January through April, the Woodford football coaches will be holding position-specific drills in the high school gym for youth players of all ages.
- KHSAA: Thursday’s Board of Control meeting could bring an overhaul to the current football RPI system the KHSAA implemmented this season to seed teams in the playoffs. Among the topics for discussion are the currently fixed value assigned to playing an out-of-state team.
- 30TH DISTRICT HOOPS: The WCHS boys are the only team yet to play a district game and are in third place with a 0-0 record. The Lady Jackets join Shelby County in fourth with an 0-2 record.
- WOODFORD SPORTS WEEKLY: If you haven’t caught it yet, the Sun’s weekly Youtube highlight show recapping weekend events has aired two episodes, with episode three coming Sunday evening. The show aims to provide local student-athletes with another dimension of coverage to help make themselves known in the community, state and across the country.
