Emily Michelle Major Loper, 53, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020, at her home in Versailles. Born on Jan. 20, 1966, in Versailles, she was the daughter of Faye Flora and the late Albert “Bud” Flora. She attended Woodford County High School and was a 1984 graduate of Sebastapol High School in Sebastapol, Mississippi. She attended Eastern Central Community College in Decatur, Mississippi, where she graduated with an associate’s degree in 1986. Survivors include a son, Cody (Alex Johnson) Loper, Lexington; mother, Faye Flora; a sister, Debbie (Jack) McDill, Sebastapol, Mississippi; two brothers, Mike and Rick Major, Versailles; nieces and nephews, Josh Major, Emily Major, Tina (Jeff) Renee Tuite, Joey (Vicky) McDill and Johnathon Major; great nieces and nephews, Darrian (Cortnie) Jamison, Cheyenne Jamison, Dylan Tuite, Hobie McDill, Logan McDill, Gracie McDill and Tanner Davis. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy and Alan Major; grandparents, Noel and Ruth Smither, Midway; and a cousin, Jackie McDill, Mississippi. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Road, Lexington. Visitation will be from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
