Mary Marcella Washington Higgins, age 65, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020. Born on May 18, 1954, in Versailles, she was the daughter of the late Peeby and Amanda Washington. In addition to her husband, Robert “Beautiful Bob” Higgins, she is survived by two sons, Michael (Heather) Washington and Waymon (Laura Slugantz) Cunningham; three granddaughters, Marciana, Ariana and Bella; four siblings, Willis Washington, Janice (William) Jones, Nanny Washington and Richard (Adele Shrout) Washington; an aunt, Nannie Black; and a host of nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Hogan; and two brothers, Everette and Albert Washington Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Simpson Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Steele Cemetery in Versailles. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service.
