Edwina May Downs, 72, wife of Cloyd Downs, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2020, to go back home to heaven to sit among the rose gardens of heaven. A native of Midway, she was born on Feb. 10, 1948 to the late Edward Hay and Thelma Wagner Wolfe. Edwina loved the simple things in life. Her favorite things were going for rides in the countryside and cold snowy nights with a gentle breeze. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Rachel Downs, Midway; her son, James Downs, Midway; her stepdaughters, Dora Downs and Denisha Downs; as well as two step-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfathers, Omar Wise and Henry Wolfe; her daughter, Cynthia Downs; her sister, Priscilla Rice; and her brother, Edward Newton Hay. No services have been planned.
