Wayne Sowder, 63, husband of Rhonda Curtsinger Sowder, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020. Born on Sept. 5, 1957, in Madison County, he was the son of Kathern Ballinger Sowder and the late Walter David Sowder. He was a 1975 graduate of Woodford County High School and a member of Salvisa Baptist Church, Salvisa. He was a farmer and spent time as a truck driver. In addition to his wife of 40 years, he is survived by three daughters, Holly Jo Hance, Versailles; Amanda (Terry Lee) Brooke Yates, Gravel Switch; and Allisa (Jason Thompson) Cheradan Sowder, Lexington; a son, Wesley (Angela) Wayne Sowder, Lawrenceburg; a sister, Donna Sowder, Versailles; and five grandchildren, Briar Hance, Eli Yates, Emmett Yates, Owen Yates and Hadley Yates. A private service was held Saturday, Nov. 21, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Wesley Wayne Sowder, Terry Lee Yates, Jason Thompson, Matt Schmieg, Landon Bishop, Wyatt Bishop and Briar Hance. Honorary pallbearer was Clay Bishop.
