A Bloomfield resident, Mrs. Mary Emma Chesser, age 86, passed away Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020, at Heritage Hall in Lawrenceburg.
She was born on Feb. 17, 1934, in Mercer County, to the late Elmer T. and Clara Thelma Stratton Foster. Mrs. Chesser was a retired clerk for the former Snider Drugs in Bloomfield, was a member of Brookside Church of God of Prophecy, volunteered for Hospice and participated in the Bloomfield Tree of Life. She loved to garden and play the organ and piano.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda (Roger) Brown, Chaplin; Patricia (Larry) Mars, Ft. Smith, Arkansas; and Denise (Bo) Wilson, Versailles; two sons, Mike Chesser, Bloomfield; and Marty (Becky) Chesser, Chaplin; her sister, Rose (Larry) Renn, Louisville; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosemary Boblitt; three brothers, Byron, Owen and Marvin Foster; and a granddaughter, Malena Brown.
Services for Mrs. Mary Emma Chesser will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Bro. Millard Ledford and Bro. Carl Jones will officiate. Interment will be in Highview Cemetery in Chaplin. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 7. The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield was in charge of arrangements.
