Geoffrey Philip Reid, 71, husband of Letha Williams Reid, passed away Friday, Feb. 5, 2021, at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington.
Born on July 21, 1949, he was the son of the late Harry and Margaret Farrar Reid, Jr. Geoffrey was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, he served on the Versailles City Council for 15 years, two terms o
n the Woodford Fiscal Court as Magistrate for District 4, past member and chairman of Woodford County Community Education Board, served on the Woodford County Parks and Recreation Board and was instrumental in creating the Falling Springs Arts and Recreation Center, past president of the Board of Directors of the Cleveland Home, which is presently known as the Life Adventure Center, commander of American Legion Post #67, served on the Versailles Woodford County Planning and Zoning Board, and retired from Woodford County PVA in 2018.
Geoffrey will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Letha Williams Reid, Versailles; sister-in-law, Jean Wassell, Stone, Kentucky; brothers-in-law, Richard (Jeannie) Williams and L.T. Williams, both of Versailles; special great-niece, Caroline Wells, Versailles; special great-nephew, Jay Wells, Versailles; and several nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
Private services will be held at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home.
