Tommy Dean Given passed away unexpectedly in the late hours of March 19,
2021 at the age of 85 years.
Mr.Given was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School in Charleston,
West Va. and earned a degree from West Virginia State College. Mr.
Given’s ancestors include some of the very first settlers west of the
Allegheny mountains.
Tommy spent many years working for Union Carbide Company rising to the
position of Eastern District Sales Mgr for Union Carbide Instruments.
Mr. Given moved his family to Woodford County in 1970 when Union Carbide
sold the division to Ionics Inc. with whom he continued in the same
position. After leaving Ionics, Mr Given began a second career as sole
proprietor of Tallman Pools of the Bluegrass, building swimming pools in
the region for decades until his recent retirement.
Mr. Given was a member of Versailles Baptist Church and is survived by
his wife Jenny Sue, his daughter Jennifer Renee, son Jeffrey, four
grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are being conducted by Clark Funeral and will be
for family members only. An on-line memorial is available for viewing at
www/clarklegacycenter.com. Mr. Given will then be taken for burial at
Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Cross Lanes, West Va., where he built his
first home and resided for many years.

Tommy is reunited with his buddy and constant companion Brownie, and are
now walking together again in the fields of paradise with our Lord.
