Gloria Helen Ditzel Beyer, 88, widow of John Howard Beyer, passed away
Friday, April 16, 2021, in Michael’s home in Versailles surrounded by
her family.
She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on March 15, 1933 to the late Harry
Thomas Ditzel and Margaret R. Ross. She devoted her life to her family
and the numerous animals she cared for on the family farm in Upperco,
Maryland. Many here will remember her tireless effort and spirit
managing the office of Michael’s veterinary practice in Versailles from
1999 until 2003 and through which she developed close friendships.
She is survived by her sons, James (Jane) Beyer, Maryland; Michael
Beyer, Versailles; and Kevin (Tricia) Beyer, Arizona; her sister, Regina
Byrnes, Maryland; her sister-in-law, Betty Saffell, Maryland; her
grandchildren, Joshua (Ashley) Beyer and Matthew (Jan) Beyer;
step-grandson, Taylor Goffena; and her great-grandchild, Josephine Beyer.
Services will be held in Maryland in June with the date to be announced.
Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Road, was in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Long
