Mary Jane Dodman Kamrowski, 88, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021,
surrounded by her three children. She was a loving wife to the late
Gerome Kamrowski, and they were married almost four decades.
Mary Jane was born in Chicago on June 10, 1932, to the late John A.
Dodman and Marjorie Maguire Stewart. She met her former husband, John
Tucker, in Chicago, and they soon moved to Ypsilanti, Michigan to raise
their growing family. She lived in Ann Arbor, Michigan for most of her
life. She was a nursery school teacher for many years, and the care of
children was always very important to her, and her charitable
contributions reflected that care. Mary Jane was also a talented doll
maker and loving grandmother who enjoyed her dogs, Rose and Jack,
immensely. She enjoyed going to craft fairs and loved to go antiquing
all of her long life. She moved to Kentucky 13 years ago.
Mary Jane is survived by her three devoted children, Cynthia (Gary)
Fordon, Versailles, Melissa (Mark) Houghton, Florida; and John (Thelma
E.) Tucker Jr., Michigan; a stepson, Felix Kamrowski, Colorado;
grandchildren, Charlotte (Sean) Perkins, Michigan; Michael (Megan)
Tucker, Pennsylvania; Sean (Amanda) Tucker, Pennsylvania; Jordan
Bailey, Oregon; Katherine Bailey, New York; and Kelly Starwas,
Michigan; and great-grandchildren, Tanner Perkins, Saycia Perkins, Harly
Perkins, Ty Tucker, Dominick Tucker, Hudson Tucker and Dominick
Starwas. In addition to her husband, Gerome Kamrowski, and parents,
John Dodman and Marjorie Maguire Stewart, Mary Jane was preceded in
death by her sisters, Diane Dodman Fast and Barbara Dodman Kelly.
Her family will gather in Michigan to honor her memory and bury her
ashes in the near future. Clark Funeral Home in Versailles will oversee
arrangements.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Woodford
County Food Pantry, P.O. Box 1066, 20 Field of Dreams Road, Versailles,
Ky. 40383 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
