Catherine “Cathy” Updike Reed, 67, wife of Clyde Reed, died Monday, June
21, 2021.
Born on Oct. 2, 1953, in Versailles, she was the daughter of the late
Ollie and Minnie Baxter Updike. She was retired from the Fayette County
Board of Education and was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Stephen
(Ashley) Reed and Joseph (Ann) Reed, both of Versailles; seven
grandchildren, Piper Reed, Tyler and Sydney Green, Caleb Reed, Jessica
Keene, and Taylor and Griffin Phillips; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held Friday, June 25, at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill
Avenue, by Pastor Carl Jones. Casket bearers were Caleb Reed, Stephen
Reed, Tyler Green, Emmanuel Ramirez, Dayvione Ramirez and Joseph Reed.
Burial followed in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
