Dennis Arvin, 59, of Versailles, died Sunday, June 27, 2021, after a
lengthy battle with diabetes.
Born on Nov. 15, 1961, in Leesburg, Florida, he was the son of the
late Leon and Verna Arvin. He was a retired truck driver, having hauled
vehicles for Toyota and Ford for many years, and was a member of the
Teamsters Local 651. He had also worked as a chef.
He is survived by four children, Chris (Amanda) Terry, Frankfort; April
Arvin, Nicholasville; Ashley Arvin and Jacob Arvin, both of Lexington;
two grandchildren, Blane Terry and Ella Terry; five siblings, Dan
(Cathy) Arvin, Fonda (John) Sharp, David (Rosanne) Arvin, all of
Jacksonville, Florida; Wanda Weakley, Richmond; and Darrell (Mary)
Arvin, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. In addition to his parents, he was
preceded in death by a brother, Dorsie Arvin; a sister, Sondra
Alexander; and a brother-in-law, Bill Weakley.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 2, at Blackburn and Ward
Funeral Home in Versailles, by Daniel Weakley and Jack Hall. Pallbearers
will be Chris Terry, Jacob Arvin, Kenny Arvin, Kevin Arvin, Dave
Weakley, Matt Sharp, Brad Arvin and Corrigan Barnes. Honorary
pallbearers will be his remaining nieces and nephews. Interment will
follow in Rose Crest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m.
today, Thursday, July 1, at the funeral home.
