Golf
Bradford Lacefield had a pair of runner-up finishes at the Kentucky
Junior Amateur and the State Farm Classic in Illinois.
Graysen Kerr was runner-up in the Bluegrass Golf Tour 12-and-under
division at Wild Turkey July 6.
Wrestling
WCHS 2021 graduate Tony Ornelas wrestled for Kentucky Extreme at the
Grand River Rumble in Wisconsin July 10-11. Ornelas had a record of 5-2
in the heavyweight class, including one win by fall. Ornelas earned
All-American status for his performance at the event.
Football
The WCHS linemen won the first annual Bojangles’ Big Man Challenge July
17. LCA won the 7-on-7 tournament held at Community Stadium.
Sawyer Ford returned from the Prokicker.com two-day camp with a
four-star rating, and the junior is currently ranked sixth in the nation
as a punter/kicker combo specialist.
Luke Hill and Clark Kissick attended the Football University camp in
Naples, Florida, July 10-11. Hill took home All-Camp Honors and a
Gatorade MVP award.
Softball
The Woodford All-Stars won the National Softball Association Summer Heat
tournament in Lexington. Ariel Dailey, Emily Hestand, Addison Kerr and
Natalie Kerr were members of the team.
Basketball
Evie Hall and Claire Seitz won the Midwest National AAU tournament with
the Lexington Crossover team in Louisville.
Tennis
The Woodford County Junior Team Tennis squad were runner-up in the state
tournament at Top-Seed in Nicholasville. More on this event in the
