Ralph W. O’Reel, 92, widower of Bernadine O’Reel, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021.
Born on May 2, 1929, in Hammond, Indiana, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth Skurth O’Reel. He was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church. He relocated from Hammond, Indiana to Versailles as one of the original seven members to oversee the construction of the Rand McNally Plant.
He is survived by three sons, Brian (Carol) O’Reel, Versailles; Ronald (Lynell) O’Reel, Nashville; and Kevin (Kim) O’Reel, Versailles; eight grandchildren, Leann (Travis), Lindsey (Jeremy), Thomas (Jessica), Lauren (Caleb), Andrew (Ali), Alexandra, Josh (Ariel) and Jon Thomas; and 13 great-grandchildren, Addison, Natalie, Grayson, William, Sophia, Elan, Jaxon, Zoe, Hadlee, Liam, McClain, Nathaniel and Kairan.
Services were held Tuesday, Aug. 17, at St. Leo Catholic Church, by Father Chris Clay. Casket bearers were Joshua O’Reel, Jon Thomas O’Reel, Andrew O’Reel, Thomas O’Reel, Leann Kerr, Lindsey Anglin, Lauren Rice and Alexandra O’Reel. Burial followed in Rose Crest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Leo Catholic Church. Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill Avenue, was in charge of arrangements.
