George Franklin Barnett, 72, husband of Linda Tharp Barnett, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021, at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington.

Born on Feb. 4, 1949, in Lexington, he was the son of the late Sterling and Ora Pelphrey Barnett. He was a former employee of Texas Instruments and was a skilled painter who owned and operated Barnett Painting. He was an active member of the Sons of the America Legion.

In addition to his wife of 39 years, he is survived by four daughters, Katrinca (Jan Sexton) Barnett, Kimberly Wallace, Kristi (David) Dupree, all of Lawrenceburg; and Sonya (Craig) Martin, Covington; a brother, Wayne (Margaret) Barnett, Lexington; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Nathan Fitzpatrick and Kenny Barnett; a great-grandson, Luke Kincaid; seven brothers and four sisters.

Services were conducted Saturday, Aug. 28, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home, by the Rev. David Dupree. A private graveside service was held Monday, Aug. 30, at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
