Phyllis Kirkland, 75, wife of Charles Kirkland, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2021.
Born on Oct. 11, 1945, in Woodford County, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Blanche Dunn Ritchey. She was a member of Palomar Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Sherri (Jaime) Cruz, Lexington; Budd (Debbie) Kirkland, Union; and Kim (Pedro) Ramirez, Versailles; a brother, Ronnie (Marion) Ritchie, Versailles; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Wednesday, Sept. 8, at Rose Crest Cemetery, Versailles, by the Rev. James Heard. Honorary casket bearers were Manuel Kirkland, Matthew Villa, Cole Kirkland, Shawn Rogers, Steven Ritchey, Marty Ritchey, Jeff Ritchey, Phillip Ritchey, Taylor Bragg, Samuel Bragg, Dale Ragland and Rodney Ragland. Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill Ave., was in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
