Ethel Elizabeth Lancaster, 86, widow of Saint Elmo Lancaster, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, at her home in Versailles.
Born on July 18, 1935, in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Howard Ortlich and Ida Rhae Barrick. She was a longtime member of the Versailles Church of God.
Survivors include five children, Debbie (Russell) Fay Fannin, Versailles; Daniel “Joe” (Donna) Lancaster, Frankfort; Phillip “Spanky” (Donna) Lancaster, Versailles; Mark (Annie) Lancaster, Burnside; and Loren (Linda) Lancaster, Versailles; two sisters, Barbara Mathis, Versailles; and Grace Lamb, Indiana; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Howard Lancaster, Louis Lancaster and Alan Boyd Lancaster; three sisters, Dorothy Harmon, Martha Soard and Helen Stewart; and four brothers, Luther Barrick, Stanley Barrick, Howard Barrick and Joe Barrick.
Services were conducted Tuesday, Sept. 14, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home, by Bro. Frank Layne. Pallbearers were Nathan Lancaster, Jonathan Fannin, Jason Fannin, Mark Lancaster Jr., Joshua Lancaster and Noah Branham. Honorary pallbearers were Rodney Murphy, Daniel Hamilton, Chase Hamilton, Keith Branham, Jonah Branham, Russell Fannin and Carl Lay. Burial followed in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
