Mary Ruth Wafford Coovert, 89, widow of William Durrell Coovert, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021.
Born on Dec. 29, 1931, in Woodford County, she was the daughter of the late Roy Lee and Edna Jefferson Wafford. She was retired from Kuhlman Electric Corporation.
Survivors include four children, Della Ruth Helmburg, Lawrenceburg; Ailene Newman, Louisville; Diana Martin, Versailles; and William Anthony Coovert, Winchester; three sisters, Ernestine Stanbery, Alabama; Joyce Luttrell, Lexington; and Bonnie Harris; a brother, William Woodrum, Hustonville; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, Sept. 20, at Clark Legacy Center, Frankfort, by Pastor Gary Maynard. Casket bearers were Daniel Eades, Steven Coovert, Martin Coovert, Michael Coovert, Christopher Mullins and Timothy Bowles. Burial followed in Versailles Cemetery.
