Marlon “Marty” Franklin Coomer, 55, husband of Peggy Coomer, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, at his home in Versailles.
Born on Feb. 5, 1966, in Georgetown, he is the son of the late Sharon Kay Coomer Spencer. He was a self-employed handyman and a member of the American Legion Post 67.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Megan (Cody) Greer and Meredith Coomer, all of Versailles, a brother, Dewayne Spencer, Tennessee, sisters, Crystal (Shane) Loveless, Tennessee, Jennifer Spencer, Beattyville, and grandchildren, Sara Coomer, Seth Coomer, and Kenda Greer. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Sharon Kay Coomer (Kenneth) Spencer; a son, Eric Coomer; and a sister, Kenda Renee Spencer
Graveside services were conducted Friday, Oct. 22, in Rose Crest Cemetery, by Nick Green. Pallbearers were Tommy Vanderpool, Cody Greer, Frank Killebrew, Jon Morgan, John Abner and Sonny Buffin.
