Sister Margaret Mary Denise Perez, 59, of the Sisters of St. Joseph the Worker, died on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021 at Taylor Manor Nursing Home in Versailles.
Born on June 6, 1962, in New York, New York, she was the daughter of Hilda “Penny” Alvarez Brunelle. She professed her vows on June 15, 1984. She was a teacher of music at St. Joseph Academy in Walton.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Hilda “Penny” and Michel Brunelle, Tennessee; and two siblings, Susette Freeman and Mario Perez, both of Florida.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at All Saints Catholic Church, by Fr. Matthew Cushing. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Versailles. Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, and from 9 until 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at All Saints Catholic Church, Walton.
