Carol Travis Moore, 80, widow of Robert “Bob” E. Moore Jr., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021.
She was born on July 4, 1941 (and was definitely a firecracker), in Henderson, to the late Buryl Travis and Mae Newman Poe. Mrs. Moore was the co-founder of REM Company, Inc. and an active member of Troy Presbyterian Church. She loved to cook for her family and friends and was well known for making pies.
She is survived by her children, Stephanie (Joe) Nallia, Lexington; Cherie Polly, Trish Egbert, and Mark (Tammy) E. Moore, all of Versailles; nine grandchildren, Brittany Lannon Egbert, Jaime Nicole Moore Wilson, Jamie Crump, Joseph Nallia III, Miles Harris Nallia, Jordon Polly, Matthew Crump, Travis Moore and Blake Egbert; 11 great-grandchildren; stepmother, Margaret Travis, Frankfort; sisters, Donna Book, Marguerite Rowland and Frances Thompson; niece, Kim Graves; and nephews, John (Alicia) Book Jr. and Scott (Rachel) Book. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert E. Moore III, and her son-in-law, Robbie Egbert.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 18, at Troy Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jerry Utt officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be her grandsons. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill Avenue.
