Jim Sills, 94, of Versailles, unexpectedly passed away peacefully.
Originally from Paducah, he moved to Lexington in 1946 after serving in WWII in Japan. He was the owner of Jim Sills Insurance and Real Estate in Lexington before moving to Versailles and a 70 year plus member of Immanuel Baptist Church
He was locally known as the Train Man, because he enjoyed making wooden name trains for children and children at heart and was seen around town in his little red enclosed car.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Mastin Sills; parents, Garlon C. and Agnes Sills; and brothers, Garlon C. Sills Jr. and Bill Sills.
He is survived by his son, Tony Sills; sister, Juanita Richardson; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 18, at Scobee Funeral Home in Winchester. Burial will follow in the Winchester Cemetery. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 18, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Habitat for Humanity or the Immanuel Baptist Church of Lexington Benevolence fund.
