Jim Vanhoose, 85, widower of Shirley Means Vanhoose, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022.
Born on Jan. 9, 1937, in Paintsville, he was the son of the late Gordon and Edna Robinson Vanhoose. He was a computer programmer for Texas Instruments and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by a daughter, Sandra (Lloyd) Jones, Midway; a son, Phillip Vanhoose, Lexington; a brother, Robert (Sharon) Vanhoose, Florida; a sister-in-law, Mary Vanhoose, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Carrie (David) Apple and Crissie (Damon) Evans; and five great-grandchildren, Kiaya, Ben, Macy, Mia and Brady. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Vanhoose.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 17, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Road, by the Rev. Todd Lester. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
