Phyllis Geraldine Disponette Stratton, 81, widow of J.B. Stratton, died Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at the Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Lexington. Born on Nov. 6, 1940, in Versailles, she was the daughter of the late David Bradley and Mary Frances Riley Disponette. She was a lifelong resident of Woodford County and was a 1958 graduate of Versailles High School. She worked for the ASCS office, where she was a farm consultant for the tobacco program. She was a member of Pinckard Baptist Church and the Auxiliary of Gideons International. She was a Christian and served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She is survived by two children, Holly (Brian) S. Peyton, Lawrenceburg; and John (Melody) D. Stratton, Shelbyville; a sister, Geneva Thompson, Versailles; five grandchildren, Braden Peyton, Dayton, Ohio; Cameron Peyton, Lawrenceburg; Bradley (Megumi) Stratton, Jennifer Stratton, both of Lexington; and Sarah Stratton, West Palm Beach, Florida; and a great-grandson, Roman Herra-Stratton. In addition to her husband of 64 years and parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Owen Bradley Disponette and Hazel Stratton. Services were conducted Wednesday, April 20, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home, by the Rev. Mike James. Pallbearers were Bradley Stratton, Braden Peyton, Cameron Peyton, Greg Thompson, Brandon Yates and Todd Yates. Honorary pallbearers were Sarah Stratton, Jennifer Stratton, Angela Spies, Joyce Yates and Gerald Yates. Burial followed in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
