Betty Garrett Staton, 85, widow of Ralph Vernon Staton, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2022, at the Bluegrass Community Hospital in Versailles.
She was born on Dec. 26, 1936 to the late James Andrew and Polly Bassett Garrett.
She is survived by a daughter, Audrey (Tom) Staton Francis, Shelbyville; a sister, Ruth (Billy McIntyre) Walker; a nephew, Eric Walker; a son-in-law, Eddie Portwood, Midway; five grandchildren, Amanda Curry, Lexington; Carole (Hunt) Portwood Calvert, Shelbyville; Kim (Gary) Rose, Versailles; Armon (Chris) Portwood, Georgetown; and Kelly (Mike) Portwood Turner, Versailles; 12 great-grandchildren, Sam, Ollie and Nate Walker; Hayleigh and Andrew Calvert; Elizabeth, Katie and Chelsea Rose; Josie, Riley, Jacob and Will Turner. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Staton Portwood; and a brother, Sam Garrett.
A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, Aug. 6, at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home.
