James William “Bull/Jim” Durham, 80, formerly of Anderson and Woodford counties, died Friday, May 26, 2023, in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Born on Aug. 14, 1942, in Arab, Alabama, he was the son of the late Robert Wilburn Durham and Emma Ausmer Durham. He served in the Army National Guard for over 23 years, was a member of the Corinth Christian Church, a Kentucky Colonel, and was a 32 year retired computer technician with IBM. He was a volunteer for the Kentucky State Police Trooper Island program, a member of Landmark Masonic Lodge #41, the Buford Lodge, and was a former member of the Anderson County Masonic Lodge #90, where he was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a former wrestler for over 12 years.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Cinnamon) Durham; a daughter, Anita (Robbie) Rachell Lile, Woodford County; and four granddaughters, Zarabeth Lile, Zoe Lile, Zaida Lile and Zanra Jai Lile. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Clifford Ray Durham; and six siblings, Polly Eudy, Betty Howard, Lester Durham, Frank Durham, Ed Durham and Ann Tollett.
Services were held Saturday, June 17, at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, by Michael Hays. Burial with military honors followed in the Corinth Cemetery. Pallbearers were the Kentucky Army National Guard. Honorary pallbearers were Rick Devers, A.D. Long, Tiny, Butch Gains, Jim Fisher, Big Mark Kerns.
