Donald Forrest Hampton passed away peacefully at home on November 2 surrounded by his daughters and caregiver. He was born February 25,1930 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Don and Gladys Blanton Hampton. Mr. Hampton enjoyed a long, healthy, and Christ-centered life.
Mr. Hampton served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1989 after 35 years of service. He served as Deacon at South Elkhorn Baptist Church where he was a member for over 50 years.
Waiting to welcome him to Heaven was his wife of over 60 years, Mary Ruth Picklesimer Hampton and beloved grandson David (Kam) Hampton Kamerschen, along with a multitude of family and friends.
He is deeply loved and survived by his daughters Jackie (Milton) Evans, Donna (Guy) Cornish, and Gena (David R. Kamerschen) Hampton. Mr. Hampton loved having his family grow to include grandchildren Chad (Chastity) Muddiman, Becky (Greg) Schuette, Jill (Meco) Richardson, Betsy (Ryan) Laski, Bethany (Ben Huston) Evans, Kim (David) Carmoney and Caroline Hampton Kamerschen and great-grandchildren Malik, Mary and Myleigh Richardson, Cameron Muddiman, and Olivia, Ryleigh, Brennan, Ashton and Evanne Laski. His pride in and love for his family was inspiring and an example to all who had the honor to know him.
Mr. Hampton welcomed Mr. James Roberts into his life earlier this year to assist with caregiving. James grew to be an important and loved part of the family.
