Chestene Wallace McDaniel, 85, widow of Homer “Jack” McDaniel, Jr., died
Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at Baptist Health Lexington. She was born in
Harlan County on Dec. 15, 1938, to the late Chester and Charlene Douglas
Wallace. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where she helped
with Sunday School, Women’s Auxiliary, and the Christian Care Center
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her
sister, Sue Clark Wallace.
Chestene will be remembered by her children, Dale, Tracye (Gavin);
grandchildren, Justin, Kyle, Holly, Daylin, Weston; great-grandchildren,
Griffin, Rylie, Jax, Karsyn, Brock, and Kai.
Funeral Services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30 at Hillcrest
Baptist Church, Lexington, with Rev. Tony Hancock, and Rev. Jim Rediford
officiating. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Burial followed at Hillcrest Cemetery.
