Sonya Bartlett, 77, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born on June 8, 1946, in Woodford, Ky to the late H.C. and Irene Ford Shipp. Sonya enjoyed landscaping her yard and being in the water, whether in her pool or at the ocean, but most of all she loved her family and being with the grandkids.
In addition to her parents, Sonya was preceded in death by, her brother, Tommy Shipp and sister, Karen Bocard.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Gary Bartlett; two sons, Jason Bartlett (Julie) and Brian Welp (Ginger); four grandchildren, Madison Grace Bartlett, Avery Elizabeth Haskins (Tay), Ansley Welp, and Allie Welp; and one great-grandchild, Kylen Haskins.
Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, at New Hope Baptist Church, 3825 Tyrone Pike, Versailles, Ky 40383. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday at the church.
James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory, Owensboro, is in charge of her arrangements.
