Doris Sulicz Curran Scheef, 94, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at her home in Versailles. Born May 8, 1931, in Hammond, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Helen Kocal Pandak

Doris graduated from Bishop Noll Institute in Hammond. She began her career with Rand McNally in Hammond before moving to Versailles, where she retired from Taylor Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church.

Doris was preceded in death by husbands, William Sulicz, Ewell Curran and Gail Scheef. She was also preceded in death by her son, Paul Sulicz; daughter, Kelly Jo Curran Courtney; and stepson, Joe Curran.

Doris is survived by her children, Andrea Blakeman (Russ Baum), Bill Sulicz, MaryBeth Hoyland, Marcia Burns and Vicki (Scott) Duncan; stepchildren, Devon Scheef (Gary) Coon, Allison Scheef and Rod (Lee Ann) Curran; close grandchildren, Evan Curran and Matthew Courtney; and many more grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, Jan. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial was conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, at St. Leo Catholic Church, with Fr. Chris Clay officiating. Interment followed the service at Rose Crest Cemetery.
