Joseph “Joe” D. Sames, 87, died Saturday, Sept. 23. Joe was born Feb. 3,
1936, to the late Walter and Hallie Wise Sames in Versailles, Kentucky.
Joe is survived by his wife Shirley Baldwin Sames, sons, Jeffery A.
(Michelle) Sames of Maysville and Kevin B. (Karen-Tingle) Sames of
Georgetown; a sister, Betty Ann Allison of Midway; grandchildren, Nathan
and Quinn Sames, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a sister,
Dorothy Mullikin; and brothers, Edward Sames, James W. Sames, William
Sames, Paul Sames and Raymond Sames.
A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at Clark
Legacy Center, 3000 Versailles Rd, Frankfort, KY, with Rev. Jeffery
Sames and Rev. Evan Rowe officiating. Burial followed at Sunset Memorial
Gardens. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until the time of service at
the funeral home.
