Mary Katherine Murray, 90, of Lexington, widow of James E. "Buddy" Murray, died Wednesday, March 23, 2016. Born in Woodford County, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth McAvoy. She retired as a registered nurse in 1988 from the Student Health Services at UK. Survivors include four sons, Phillip (Lori Nelson) Murray, Newport, Pat (Betty) Murray, Nicholasville, Mike (Debbie) Murray, Versailles, and Mark (Tina) Murray, Charlotte, N,C,; eight grandchildren, Jim Murray, Kelly Sullivan, Patrick Murray, Kandice Izor, Michael David Murray, Taylor Murray, Jimmy Crawford and Katherine Murray; and four great-grandchildren. A son, Jim Murray, is deceased. Services were conducted Tuesday, March 29, at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
