A. K. “Ken” Tanner, 87, widower of Rebecca Tanner, died on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017 at his home. Born on Feb. 16, 1930, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of the late Killus Cain and Lula Mae Hardin Tanner. He was an engineer for IBM and a co-founder of the Members Heritage Federal Credit Union, and a longtime member of Pinckard Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Tamera Slugantz, two granddaughters, Danielle McKinney, and Laura Slugantz, and a sister Juanita (James) Warner, Casey County, Ky. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 21, from 5 – 8 p.m. at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 22 at Pinckard Baptist Church. Entombment will follow at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Pinckard Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be the Board Members of Heritage Federal Credit Union.
