Carolyna Hensley Hunter, 79, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2018.
Born on Aug. 26, 1938, in Richmond, she was the daughter of the late Babe and Ann Moberly Hensley. She earned a CAD degree from Central Kentucky Vocational School, working first at Kuhlman Electric, and then later moving over to IBM until she retired. She served as a Girl Scout leader and was a member of the Pisgah Homemakers.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda (Ed) Boorda, Florida; and Renee Hunter, Versailles; a son, Brian (Melayna) Hunter, Florida; a sister, Betty (Butch) Saunder, Arizona; a brother, Ken Vaughn, Richmond; 10 grandchildren, Cindi Hillock, Aaron Goodpasture, Brandon Goodpasture, Philip (Holly) Boorda, Andrew (Jenni) Boorda, Peter Boorda, Brian (Blair) Hunter, Sarah Hunter, Susan Hunter and Kyle Silbereisen; and six great-grandchildren, Colton Boorda, Charlotte Boorda, Jeremy Boorda, Conner Boorda, Shannon Cobb and Torran Hunter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Silas Scales.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, with a Hawaiian luau at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd., Frankfort.
