Preston Wayne “PW” Britton, 77, of Versailles died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020, at the VA Medical Center in Lexington. Born on Feb. 22, 1942, in Versailles, he was the son of the late Jesse M. Britton and Geneva Dozier Karsner. He was a graduate of Versailles High School and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War on the USS Enterprise CVA(N)-65. He spent most of his career in the dry cleaning industry, at one time owning Victone Cleaners in Versailles. In his later years, he delivered burial vaults for Combs Wilbert, Inc. of Versailles. Survivors include two daughters, Tiffany (Kevin) Wash, Jessamine County; and Tammy (Chris) Morgan, Louisville; a brother, Buddie Britton, Versailles; five grandchildren, Logan Wash, Lyndsay Wash, Taylor Morgan, Britton Morgan and Lainey Morgan; and a great-grandson, Hunter Wash. Services were conducted Monday, Feb. 3, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Interment with military honors followed in Rose Crest Cemetery. Pallbearers were Logan Wash, Kevin Wash, Chris Morgan, Buddie Britton and Raymond Buffin. Honorary pallbearer was Lou Rose.
