Leon Denney, 66, of Lexington, died Dec. 12, 2017.

Born on April 13, 1951, he was the son of Greta (Frank) Miller and the late Billy (Buck) Denney. He graduated from Woodford County High School and Eastern Kentucky University. He worked for 30 years for Continental Can Company in California, and after retiring, came back to Kentucky. He was an animal lover and was involved in Canine Olympics and was the treasurer for Caring Hearts Feline Rescue.

Survivors include a brother, Randy (Shirley); two sisters Jill (Glenn) Ichien; Juli (Mike) Foley; four nephews, Ryan Foley (Anna), Brent Ichien, Chris (Bonnie) Denney, Patrick Denney; three nieces, Emily Foley, Jenna (Ruben) Rodriguez, Melia Ichien; four great nephews, Jayden Moore, Bronson Denney, Abraham Denney and Jase Foley; two great nieces, Scout Denney and Madisyn Rodriguez.

A private memorial will be held.
