William “Bill” Matthew Williams, age 86, of Ellijay, Georgia, passed on
Tuesday, May 25, 2021.
He was born on March 12,1935 to his late parents Matthew and Etta (Lowe)
Williams in Plains, Georgia. Bill was a member of First United Methodist
Church in Ellijay. Bill and his wife enjoyed socializing with other
hikers and hiked extensively in Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota
and Wisconsin. Bill worked as a veterinarian for Old Mill Farm in
Cartersville, Georgia, a thoroughbred horse farm, for several years.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Sandra (Stover) Williams,
Ellijay, Georgia; daughters and son-in-law, Anna Williams, Jacksonville,
Florida; and Tonya and Mike Farmer, Murfreesboro, Tennessee; sons and
daughter-in-laws, Matthew and Perri Williams, Houston, Texas; and
Michael and Audrey Ayres, Rochester, Minnesota; grandchildren, Jacob
Farmer, Sam Farmer, Sarah Williams, Sam Williams, Nina Ayres and Altan
Ayres; and great-grandchild, Isaac Farmer. He was preceded in death by
his daughter, Emma Jordan.
A memorial service was held Saturday, June 12, at the First United
Methodist Church with Dr. Thom Shores officiating. Logan Funeral Home &
Chapel were in charge of arrangements.
